Amish Peanut Butter Spread

If you live in Ohio, you've probably been to Der Dutchman Amish Restaurant. We all have our favorites there, whether its their broasted chicken, roast beef, cream pies, donuts or cinnamon rolls.

For me, it's this easy to make Peanut Butter Spread. Try it with warm cinnamon rolls, as a sticky frosting for cupcakes or as a dip for celery or pretzels. It makes two cups, but I suggest doubling it and giving it away as gifts!

AMISH PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD
Makes 2 Cup

Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water - 3/4c
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon corn syrup
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup marshmallow creme
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
  • In a medium saucepan over high heat, combine sugar, water and butter and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in corn syrup, reduce heat to low and simmer 1 to 2 minutes; remove from heat.
  • Add peanut butter, marshmallow crème, and vanilla and stir until blended.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container, in the refrigerator.
